The advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of unloading devices of belt conveyor are compared to help you select the correct type

In engineering application, in addition to the head drum unloading, the belt conveyor conveying bulk materials is also required to be able to unload in the middle, and sometimes it is also required to unload at multiple points in the middle or continuously in a certain section.

There are three main ways to choose from the unloading device: 1) plow unloader, 2) unloading trolley and 3) reversible bin distribution belt conveyor.

1. Plough unloader

Plow unloaders are divided into manual plow unloaders and electric plow unloaders. Manual plough unloader is only used in some small coal mines and power plants, and it is rarely used in new coal mines. Most electric plow unloaders are of variable groove angle.

The variable groove angle plow unloader is mainly composed of electric push rod, driving push rod, variable groove angle idler group, flat idler group, plowboard and electric device.

Its working feature is that when the unloading plow is pushed down by external force, the idler group supporting the conveyor belt under the plow can be synchronized with the unloading plow. Under the external force, it can be expanded from groove shape to linear shape. At this time, the scraping plane under the unloading plow can press the upper plane of the conveyor belt to realize bilateral or unilateral unloading.

When the unloading plow is pulled up by external force, the idler group supporting the conveyor belt under the plow returns to the groove shape from the flattened shape, and the materials can pass through the current plow unloader, so as to relieve the unloading state.

The utility model has the advantages of greatly reducing the wear of the plough unloader on the belt. The disadvantage is that the structure is relatively complex, the installation and commissioning are troublesome, and there are occasional phenomena such as inflexible action and jamming during use. At the same time, the material unloading is not clean because the bonding gap between the conveyor belt and the scraping plane under the unloading plow cannot be adjusted.

Plow unloader is used for unloading at any point in the horizontal section of belt conveyor. The plough unloader has two forms of unilateral and bilateral unloading, which is applicable to the belt conveyor with belt speed v = 2.5m/s, material particle size less than 25mm, small abrasiveness and vulcanization joint of the conveyor belt.

2. Unloading trolley

The unloading trolley is mainly composed of reversing drum, driving device, blanking hopper, active traveling wheel, driven traveling wheel, frame, brake and electric control device.

In order to improve the problem of dust pollution during unloading, the unloading trolley can also be equipped with dust removal system and tape sealing device. The unloading trolley drops the materials into the three-way funnel through the reversing drum, and the materials can be dropped to the two side funnel or the middle blanking port respectively under the control of the electric turnover plate. Blanking to the middle blanking opening is mainly used for adjusting the bin position of the unloading trolley and feeding to the tail bin.
